Director/Finance
My husband, Jim, and I live on acreage just east of Olds. We have three grown children, two
wonderful son-in-laws and 8 amazing grandchildren.
Born and raised on a farm in Central Alberta, I remember my dad losing his mind over the National Energy Program and the blatant and unapologetic abuse of the unbalanced power of the federal central government. I have grown up believing in my right to vote and knowing that results are made before my polling station closed. This must change.
While writing for weekly newspapers in the early 1980s, I covered the movement of the Western Canadian Concept Party and was, as were many, disappointed to see that movement sabotaged.
For the last 15 years or more I have worked as a volunteer and on the founding board of The
Olds & District Hospice Society. The initial philosophy of this grassroots organization was to
improve and support end-of-life care in our community. When my final term on the hospice board came to a close, I thought that meant I would be taking a break from board work...apparently it amuses God when you have a plan. Since the AGM in April of 2023 I have been working primarily in the area of finance for The Independence Party of Alberta.
I am grateful for the wakeup call provided by the work of the Alberta Prosperity Project and the
truckers’ convoy. Through these movements and organizations, including the Independence Party of Alberta, I have met some of the finest people one could hope to stand beside.
I am fiercely proud of Alberta and of the people of this province. I will do whatever I can to ensure my children and grandchildren can say the same.
